SkinPen® PRECISION MICRONEEDLING
Rewrite Your Skin’s Story
What is SkinPen?
SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device in the world, clinically proven to safely and effectively fighting the appearance of neck wrinkles and facial acne scars for ages 22 and up. SkinPen is made in the USA and is rigorously tested for safety.
In Australia, SkinPen is a class IIa medical device included on the ARTG indicated to treat acne scarring, surgical scars and fine lines and wrinkles.
With as few as three non-invasive and affordable treatments spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance for six months after your last treatment – and step out with confidence.
What can SkinPen help with?
SkinPen is indicated to treat acne scarring, surgical scars, fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck, stretch marks, enlarged pores and pigmentation conditions (dyschromia).
How does it work?
SkinPen creates hundreds to thousands of “micro” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling – to prompt tissue remodeling without causing scar tissue formation. Most patients can return to normal activities within 24 hours.
Why use SkinPen?
SkinPen is clinically proven to fight the appearance of neck wrinkles and reduce the appearance of acne scars. In fact, 90% of subjects in the clinical trial would recommend the treatment to friends and family. It’s a minimally invasive procedure performed in-office with little to no downtime. As the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, SkinPen sets the industry standard for safety.
Is SkinPen safe?
Yes, by design. SkinPen’s patented – and single-use – sterile needle cartridge is built with safety in mind. SkinPen is also surrounded by a custom-designed BioSheath that acts as a barrier to prevent cross contamination between procedures. That’s part of the reason SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the world’s first FDA-cleared microneedling device.
Who should not use SkinPen?
SkinPen should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a bleeding disorder or bleeding dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Roaccutane). What is the SkinPen post treatment care?
It is important to keep your skin well hydrated after the SkinPen procedure. Microneedling causes a temporary increase in water loss so keeping your skin hydrated and protected during this period will aide your recovery experience.
Apply SkinPen LIFT HG (provided) whenever needed to assist with skin hydration, up to 24 hours post-procedure or until the product is depleted. After returning home, apply Bio-cellulose Recovery Mask (provided) for extra hydration and protection.
Do not use any other products, including cleanser, on your skin within the first 24 hours post-procedure. Unexpected complications may occur when products not proven safe for use with microneedling are applied post-procedure. In lieu of cleansing your skin, you may rinse with cool water as needed.
After 24 hours, begin applying SkinPen RESCUE Calming Complex (provided) as needed to help soothe and calm the skin. RESCUE was specifically formulated for post-microneedling. Continue using one Bio-cellulose Recovery Mask (provided) once a day for the next two days.
For the first 24 hours: strictly avoid sun exposure the day of the procedure as you will not be wearing sunscreen. You may return to sunscreen use 24 hours following the procedure. Continue to minimize sun exposure for 72 hours post-procedure.
For the first 72 hours: avoid strenuous exercise or excessive perspiration, as excess blood flow and sweat can cause discomfort and irritation to compromised skin. Continue to minimize sun exposure.
For the first 5 days: avoid using any active skincare topical products, such as retinoids, vitamin C etc., to reduce risk of irritation. When your skin is no longer sensitive, resume your pre-treatment skincare routine. Tips: when re-starting active products, starting at a slower pace and progressing gradually to daily use would help skin adapt to active ingredients and prevent irritation. For example, start retinol once every 2nd night for one week and gradually increase to nightly use.
