JAW TENSION, TEETH GUIDING,
FACE SLIMMING

Enlarged masseter muscles are often caused by teeth grinding, hard chewing, or unconsciously clenching the jaw. In some cases, large jaw muscles are just part of the person's normal anatomy, but habitual overuse can cause the masseters to become even more prominent.

By reducing the muscle bulk of masseters, clients often report a relief in jaw tension, involuntary teeth grinding at night, and tension headache when applicable. We take a full medical history and assessment by palpating the muscle bulk to determine whether this treatment is the suitable option for you.

Precision of the treatment is essential to create maxium results and natural facial contour, and to avoid affecting the risorius muscle which can result in uneven smiles.

The treatment is relatively quick with minimal discomfort. The result usually lasts 3-6 months depending on individual factors including but not limited to anatomy and chewing habits.

If you are looking to relieve jaw tension or bruxism (teeth grinding):

If slimming effect is not preferred, it can achieved by using a relatively low dose to give enough relaxation and a very small reduction of the muscles without giving visible slimming effect.

If you are looking to slim the lower face for a more oval or heart shape:

A higher dose is often required to effectively reduce the muscle bulk of masseters. Repeated treatments every 3-6 months using the same dose or a slightly low dose are most likely necessary to maintain or further improve the slimming effect.

In some people, reducing or repositioning the fat pads in the face may be a better option. We will thoroughly discuss the treatment options with you before the treatment.
